for the City Section 4-A championship on Thursday, will be well-represented in the 22nd Annual Daily News Bernie Milligan All-Star Game An all-star game is an exhibition game played by the best players in their sports league. The players are often chosen by a popular vote of fans of the sport and the game often occurs at the halfway point of the regular season, although this is not the case for some all-star games  on Saturday.

The Chancellors had four players selected for the West team - outfielders Bryan Gant and Tom Morefield, infielder Danny Eisenberg and pitcher Ismael Marin. The East and West rosters feature 48 of the area's top seniors.

The West will be coached by Chatsworth's Tom Meusborn and Calabasas' Rick Nathanson. Meusborn, who has guided the Chancellors to four City 4-A finals in nine seasons, also coached in the Milligan game in 1995. This is the first Milligan coaching assignment for Nathanson, who has a 124-44-5 record in seven seasons at Calabasas.

The East, which will be co-coached by Poly's Chuck Schwal and Harvard-Westlake's Josh Smaler, features a strong pitching staff that includes Monroe's John Ennis, a 14th-round draft choice by the Atlanta Braves The Atlanta Braves are a professional baseball team based in Atlanta, Georgia.
