CHARLIE SIGNS UP FOR CAROL EVENT... Country star joins line-up for annual concert.

Born on 12th January 1971 and brought up in Essex, Jones started her professional career in the newsroom of Buckinghamshire based local radio station Mix 96 in 1994.
 

WIRRAL singer-songwriter Charlie Landsborough will perform as a special guest at this year's ECHO Carol Concert.

The 68-year-old Wirral-born folk singer said he was looking forward to playing his part in the festive event which raises thousands of pounds for charity.

He said today: "I'm delighted to be involved in this year's Liverpool ECHO The Liverpool Echo is a newspaper published by Trinity Mirror on Merseyside in England. It is published Monday to Saturday, and is Liverpool's evening newspaper while its sister paper, the Liverpool Daily Post, is the morning paper.  Carol Concert.

"The cathedral is a great setting to kick the festive season off in, and to be able support such an important charity as Liverpool Unites as well as the upkeep of this magnificent cathedral in the process will make the evening even more special."

This year's concert, introduced by ECHO columnist Joe Riley, takes place on Friday, December 11, and proceeds will be shared between Liverpool Unites and the cathedral development fund.

 will play the magnificent Willis organ - the largest in the UK - and the congregation will be boosted by singers from no fewer than five choirs: Liverpool Youth Choir, Liverpool Harp Choir, St Mary's West Derby, St Anne Stanley and Holy Trinity in Southport.

Tom Woolley, of Liverpool Unites, said: "Last year's Carol Concert was a fantastic way to start the festive season and raised pounds 2,000 for Liverpool Unites.

"Everyone who comes along on December 11 will have a great time and will also be supporting the vital work Liverpool Unites does to offer children a brighter future away from a life of crime and poverty.

"They''ll also be supporting the upkeep of the magnificent Liverpool Cathedral Liverpool Cathedral is the Church of England cathedral of Liverpool, England, built on St. James' Mount in the centre of the city. It is the seat of the Anglican Bishop of Liverpool. Its official name is the Cathedral Church of Christ in Liverpool. ."

The concert will also include the winning entry in the ECHO carol competition, now in its 16th year.

Tickets for the concert cost pounds 10 with pounds 8 concessions and are available from the ECHO offices in Old Hall Street or on the ticket phone hotline 0151-285-8400.
