CHARLES TRIBUTE TO RUC DEAD.

In a ceremony at the RUC George Cross Garden in PSNI headquarters, East Belfast, Charles paid tribute to the victims along with Garda chief Peter Fitzgerald.

During the final public engagement on the first day of his two-day visit, he said: "There are so many stories of extraordinary heroism and of courage beyond the call of duty.

Velia Martin, whose husband Gary was killed in West Belfast 22 years ago, said: "It was a chance for all the girls to grieve and comfort each other.

"No one else can really appreciate what an honour it is to have Prince Charles here."
