 SAN FRANCISCO, March 18 /PRNewswire/ -- The Charles Schwab & Co., Inc. (NYSE, PSE: SCH) has announced the appointment of the Financial Advisors Service (FAS) Advisory Board for 1992. Created in 1987, the Financial Advisors Service Division provides trading and operations support to independent, fee-based money managers nationwide. Schwab client assets managed by financial advisors nearly doubled in 1991 from $4.2 to over $8 billion out of $49 billion in total client assets at the firm.
 The 13 advisory board members are selected from among more than 3,000 advisors who trade through Schwab's Financial Advisors Service. Each member serves a one-year term; the first meeting is at Schwab's headquarters in San Francisco on March 27. The advisory board provides strategic guidance and ideas on existing and proposed products and services for the financial advisor marketplace. The financial advisors are not employed or compensated by Schwab.
 This year's advisory board consists of the following experienced money managers:

 -- Timothy K. McCarthy of Van Deventer & Hoch, Glendale, Calif.
 -- Beverly T. O'Grady of Wilkinson & Hottinger, Inc., New York
 -- John E. Sestina of Sestina, Budros & Ruhlin, Columbus, Ohio
 -- John J. Smith Jr. of Parsec Planning Group, Inc., Asheville, N.C.
