 CHARLES E. WOHLERS NAMED PRESIDENT
 OF GARLOCK VALVES & INDUSTRIAL PLASTICS
 NEW YORK, June 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Charles E. Wohlers has been named president of the Garlock Valves & Industrial Plastics Division of Coltec Industries (NYSE: COT).
 Wohlers, 37, succeeds David E. Newman, 55, who has been named to the new position of vice president, engineering and new product development.
 Wohlers had been vice president and general manager of Coltec's Garlock Plastomer Products operation since January 1990. He joined Coltec in 1976 as an industrial engineer with Crucible Steel and advanced to Coltec's Crucible Magnetics Division. He progressed through increasingly responsible positions at the division and in September 1986 was promoted to director of marketing at Coltec's Liquidmanager Operation.
 In August 1988, Wohlers was named manufacturing services manager of the France Compressor Products Division of Coltec Industries; and a year later advanced to director of operations.
 Born in Buffalo, N.Y., Wohlers in 1976 received his bachelor of science degree in management engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
 Garlock Valves & Industrial Plastics, based in Camden, N.J., manufactures tetrafluoroethylene-lined butterfly and plug valves and other tetrafluoroethylene components.
 Coltec Industries Inc. is a New York-based manufacturing company with revenues of approximately $1.4 billion serving aerospace, automotive and other industrial markets.
