 OF NATIONAL COOPERATIVE BANK
 WASHINGTON, Dec. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- The board of directors of National Cooperative Bank (NCB) has named Charles E. Snyder president and chief executive officer of NCB effective Jan. 17, 1992. Gordon E. Lindquist, chairman of the board of directors, said, "By all standards NCB is in the strongest position ever to respond to the financial needs of its customers, and Chuck Snyder has participated in every aspect of this growth and success. We are fortunate to have him available and very confident the transition to his leadership will be a positive one for our people and our customers."
 Since 1983, Snyder has served as corporate vice president and chief financial officer of the bank. In 1987, he was named president and chief executive officer of NCB Capital Corporation which is a wholly-owned capital finance subsidiary of NCB dealing in national and international money markets. He also is a member of the board of directors of NCB Savings Association. Before joining the bank, Snyder was president of Temporaries Federal Credit Union, controller of Temporaries, Inc., and has worked as a certified public accountant with the firm of Matthews, Carter & Boyce, Arlington, Va.
 Snyder succeeds Thomas S. Condit who successfully implemented NCB's growth since 1983. Under Condit's guidance, the bank has grown from $222 million in assets to over $500 million. Members' equity has grown from $33 million in 1983 to over $103 million in 1991. During the past 10 years, NCB originated $1.5 billion in transactions to 747 cooperative businesses. NCB has developed a highly diversified customer base, a portfolio of high quality assets and an unparalleled understanding of cooperative finance.
 Snyder is a graduate of James Madison University, formerly Madison College, Harrisonburg, Va., and received a master's degree in business administration with a major in finance and investments from George Washington University, Washington.
