CHARLES CASH FOR CAMILLA; Prince's staff pamper lover.

 has publicly admitted for the first time that he pays for Camilla Parker Bowles' lifestyle.

The cost of supporting his long-time companion including employing two part-time secretaries, a gardener and a driver appear in his official accounts, published yesterday.

Her personal staff are among 124 full-time and part-time people who work for the prince.

Charles paid pounds 4.4million out of his own pocket to meet his tax bill and to keep himself, Camilla and William and Harry in the style to which they have become accustomed.

Around pounds 3.2million was spent last year just on the salaries of official staff. Details of the prince's finances were revealed by private secretary Sir Michael Peat Sir Michael Charles Gerrard Peat KCVO (born November 16, 1949) was appointed as the private secretary to the Charles, Prince of Wales in 2002 and was made Principal Private Secretary to The Prince of Wales and HRH The Duchess of Cornwall in 2005.  at his official London residence Clarence House Clarence House is a royal home in London, situated in Pall Mall. It is attached to St. James's Palace and shares the palace's garden. For nearly 50 years from 1953 to 2002 it was home to Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother, but is now the official residence of The Prince of Wales, .

He said: 'The prince lives in a way that is appropriate for a member of the Royal Family. He is exceptionally hard-working.'

Camilla still does not accompany Charles on official engagements.

But Sir Michael revealed: 'Her staff have an office here to cope with work that arises because of her connection with the Prince of Wales Prince of Wales

Charles's 28 personal staff include secretaries, a chef, grooms, valets, gardeners and estate workers and domestic staff for Wills, Harry and Camilla.

The prince met his private expenses from the pounds 11.9million he made from his huge Duchy of Cornwall estate.

His official engagements last year cost the taxpayer pounds 825,000, while the public purse also footed a bill of pounds 2.9million to run his London office and Clarence House.

The prince spent pounds 655,000 on official entertaining.
