A MERSEYSIDE cancer charity has raised pounds 65,000 at a glitzy glitz   Informal

Clatterbridge Cancer Research held the fundraiser at the De Vere De Vere may mean:
  • Aubrey de Vere II (d. c. 1112) and his descendants the de Vere family, 20 of whom who held the title of Earl of Oxford in succession, until 1703
  • Cecil Valentine De Vere, chess player
 Carden Park Hotel in Cheshire.

Among the guests were Hollyoaks stars, including Brian Bovell who plays Leo Valentine, and young cancer survivors.

Jane Simpson Chief executive of the charity said: "We have had a most successful evening, raising some pounds 65,000 to help our battle against cancer in the north west.

"This would not have been possible without the support of so many people.

"We should like to thank them all for their generosity."
