A Baldwin Park man was charged Friday with three cargo heists, including the theft of $150,000 in computer gear from the loading dock of a Woodland Hills company last month, officials said.

Juan Carlos Cali, 35, pleaded not guilty to seven felony charges including commercial burglary, grand theft and carjacking, court officials said. He was ordered back to Van Nuys Municipal Court on Sept. 9 for a pretrial hearing, court officials said.

Cali's bail was set at $870,000 because he is believed to have been involved in the theft of more than $500,000 worth of computer equipment, said Los Angeles County Deputy District Attorney Carol Fisch. More charges could be filed against him next week for other thefts, although he already faces 10 to 20 years in prison if convicted on the charges already filed.

Cali and three other men, whom police are trying to identify, were caught on surveillance videotape while stealing $150,000 in computer gear from a truck at a loading dock at Sun America International in Woodland Hills on July 9, said Detective Marc Zavala of the LAPD's Burglary/Auto Theft Division, Violent Criminal Special Section.

That led to a warrant for Cali's arrest, which was served at his home Wednesday, Zavala said.

``I arrested this same guy in 1991 for the same type of thing, and that's how I was able to identify him when I saw the videotape,'' he said. ``As a matter of fact, the first thing out of his mouth was: Glad to meet you. It's been awhile.''

Besides the Woodland Hills theft July 9, Cali is suspected in a similar cargo heist in Inglewood on June 25 and the theft of $300,000 in Toshiba computers and hard drives in Monterey Park on Aug. 3, Zavala said.
