CHANGE OVERDUE.


THE mother of a 13-year-old schoolgirl raped by a stranger who forced his way into her home five years ago welcomed a change in the way courts deal with sex crime victims.

The Glasgow mum, 52, said: "Any change has got to be for the better as the system has treated rape victims unfairly for years.

"My daughter's life has been destroyed by the system every bit as much as by her rapist rap·ist

"In court she was treated like an adult but she was a naive 13. The boy got not proven on the rape charge but was found guilty of sex with a minor and sentence was deferred for a year. A change in the way we treat victims is long overdue OVERDUE. A bill, note, bond or other contract, for the payment of money at a particular day, when not paid upon the day, is overdue.
