CHANGE OF VENUE; CONEJO ORCHESTRA TO KICK OFF SEASON AT NEW CHURCH SITE.

The Conejo Valley Symphony Orchestra is moving to a new performance venue and will kick off its 1999-00 season this fall at the 2,900-seat Calvary Community Auditorium.

 that because it is a church sanctuary,'' said Bonnie Boss, executive director. ``The Calvary Community Church's auditorium is like an auditorium and not like a church sanctuary. That gives us more performance space.''

She said her group has worked out a ``really, really good deal'' with the church for the auditorium, which is at 5495 Via Rocas.

The group will continue to use the Kavli Theatre at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza The Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza is a performing arts and administrative center located in Thousand Oaks, California. It was built in 1994 on the former site of "Jungleland" at a cost of $63.8 million.  for its ``Sounds of the Seasons'' holiday concert, scheduled for Dec. 4, and Beethoven's ``Missa Solemnis'' with the Los Robles Robles is a common surname in the Spanish language meaning oaks, and may refer to:
  • Alfonso García Robles (1911-1991), Mexican diplomat and politician

 Master Chorale chorale (kōrăl`, –räl`), any of the traditional hymns of the German Protestant Church. The form was developed after the Reformation to replace the plainsong of the earlier service and as a means of congregational participation in  and the Ventura County Master Chorale on March 18.

After the opening concert slated for Oct. 2, the symphony will hold two more season concerts at the new venue - an all-Beethoven concert featuring Daniel Pollack on Feb. 26, and a springtime concert with flutist Ciprian Ignat on May 6.
