JENSON BUTTON has revealed the heartache of not being able to share the greatest moment of his life with girlfriend Jessica Michibata - after slapping a sex ban on himself to concentrate on the big day in Brazil.

Instead of being by his side, the lingerie model, 24, went on a photographic assignment in Japan and attended a friend's wedding.

And Button admitted: "Jessica was gutted not to be here but she completely understands the situation.

"It makes it even more exciting when I do see her on Friday when she comes to Dubai."

And after banning his girlfriend to concentrate on the title, Button is now trying to do a high-speed U-turn. He said: "Every time I speak to her it's like, 'Come on honey, you can sack off work, you can get here, I want to see you now'.

"But she can't. She's working, and it's great she is. I'll see her on Friday and I can't wait.

"We've have been together for a year, and it might not seem like a long time, but we've been through a rollercoaster of emotions over the winter and the great start to the season.

"She's been a big part of my life, along with my team of people who have put up with all of this, including my mum.

"My mum was on her own when she realised I'd become champion. So was Jessica. But I will celebrate with all of them. It was hard to make that decision to leave Jessica behind."
