CHAMINADE TURNS IN COMPLETE EFFORT EAGLES TIED FOR MISSION LEAD CHAMINADE 22, ST. FRANCIS 14.

Aubrey Smith elected to use a baseball reference, in lieu of Instead of; in place of; in substitution of. It does not mean in addition to.  a football cliche, to describe the performance of the Chaminade High of West Hills football team Friday night.

``This is our first complete game of the season,'' he said.

It seemed to be the perfect assessment of the host Eagles' 22-14 Mission League upset over No. 5 St. Francis of La Canada Flintridge.
