 Chaminade of West Hills remained in contention for another Mission title Thursday night with a 51-38 league win at Loyola of Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850. .

The victory, led by Scott Borchart's 19 points and 15 rebounds, left the Eagles 12-5 overall and 3-2 in league, two games back of undefeated Mission leader Harvard-Westlake (14-4, 5-0), which had a league bye Thursday.

Loyola fell to 6-11, 2-3. Also in Mission play, St. Francis edged Alemany 63-61 and Notre Dame Notre Dame IPA: [nɔtʁ dam] is French for Our Lady, referring to the Virgin Mary. In the United States of America, Notre Dame  held off Crespi 60-58.

In girls' basketball:

--Lobos make history: Littlerock scored its first-ever win over Golden League rival Palmdale, defeating the visiting Falcons 41-36 behind a team-high 14 points by Kristel Jones and 12 by Jolene Haywood. The Lobos improved to 15-5, 4-1. Palmdale is 11-11, 2-3.

In men's tennis:

 (2-0) got wins from Jong-Min Lee, Brandon Kramer, Lassi Ketola, Chris Sands, Erfan Djahangiri and Jean-Julien Rojer in a 7-0 nonconference shutout of visiting UNLV UNLV University of Nevada, Las Vegas .

In women's basketball Women's basketball is one of the few games which developed in tandem with men's. It became popular, spreading from the east coast of the United States to the west coast, in large part via women's colleges. :

--Rembert suspended: UCLA's Ayesha Rembert has been suspended from the team indefinitely for a violation of team rules.

In boys' soccer:

--Kroh, Wildcats roll: David Kroh had three goals as Milken Community of Los Angeles routed Oakwood of North Hollywood 6-1 in a Valley League game. Adam Bergman added two goals, Sean Wachtel scored once and Brian Lacher had three assists for the Wildcats (11-1, 6-0). Aaron Kabaker scored for the Gorillas.

In girls' soccer:

--Falcons romp: Shannon Crisold and Rebecca Halidgo each scored two goals and Julie Herrold had five assists as host Crescenta Valley (11-2-3) of La Crescenta cruised past Pasadena 10-1 in a Pacific League game.

In girls' water polo:

--Lots of scorers: Visiting Flintridge Prep of La Canada had 10 different players score in its 17-5 win over Westridge High of Pasadena in a Prep League match. Brianna Butler and Amy Thomas led the Rebels (4-8, 3-2) with four goals each.
