The Eagles hired a new coach and changed to a bright orange jersey to go along with the new motto, all to move on from last year's two-win season.

Though the team's improvement hasn't shown in the win column yet, it was evident on the field.

``Unfortunately for us, this was a game we could've been in and won,'' Cortez said. ``But we flinched at the wrong times.''

Lancaster was not without its stars. Senior running back J.J. Guillory rushed nine times for 125 yards and two touchdowns. Junior quarterback Bobby Thomas rushed nine times for 97 yards and passed for a touchdown.

Lancaster had three fumbles and 11 penalties for 80 yards.
