CHAMBER TO HOST CHILI COOK-OFF.Byline: Annette Burget Bailey Staff Writer More than a dozen chili (language) CHILI - D.L. Abt. ["CHILI, An Algorithmic Language for Systems Programming", CHI-1014, Chi Corp, Sep 1975] cooks are set to prepare their special blend Special Blend is a morning radio show airing weekdays from 7 AM to 10 AM on the community-based campus radio station CKCU-FM in Ottawa, Canada. The show is entirely produced by volunteers; each of the 15 weekly programming hours is hosted by a different volunteer, with at the second annual Chili Cook-Off cook-off n. A cooking competition. , scheduled for Aug. 29 at Paramount Ranch ranch, large farm devoted chiefly to raising and breeding cattle, horses, sheep, and goats. The cattle ranch was introduced from Latin America to Texas and the plains of the W United States and Canada. . The event promises plenty of chili, as well as music, crafts, vendors, and pony rides and games for the kids. Event coordinator Diana Diana, in Roman religion Diana (dīăn`ə), in Roman religion, goddess of the moon, forests, animals, and women in childbirth. She was probably originally a forest goddess and a special patroness of women. Malmquist, executive director of the Agoura Chamber of Commerce, was pleased with the attendance the first year, but hopes even more folks will come this year. ``We had around 1,500 people attend, and about a dozen cooks,'' she said. ``We're hoping for a bigger turnout and twice as many cooks.'' The event is sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce, Pacific Bell, K-Lite (KMLT-FM 92.7) and Budweiser. It also is sanctioned by the International Chili Society, and is considered a district competition. Cash and prizes will be awarded to first-, second- and third-place winners. The cook-off will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is $4 for adults and free for children under 10. ``There are a lot of great chili cooks out there that would have a lot of fun cooking at our event,'' Malmquist said. ``I hope they get some friends or family together and decide to compete.''
