CHAKA KHAN'S SON ARRESTED IN A SLAYING.Byline: Andrea Cavanaugh Staff Writer The 25-year-old son of Grammy-winning pop singer Chaka Chaka: see Shaka. Khan has been arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with the shooting death of an 18-year-old man, police said Monday. Damien Patrick Holland was arrested Saturday and is being held in lieu of $1 million bail, LAPD Sgt. Catherine Plows said. Holland was apparently fighting with the victim about 11:50 p.m. Friday in an apartment in the 7200 block of South Sepulveda Boulevard, LAPD Officer Jason Lee said. The men were wrestling over a gun, which went off during the struggle, he said. The victim, whose name was not released pending notification of his family, died later at a hospital. An employee who answered the phone at Chaka Khan Enterprises, the singer's management company, declined to comment. But Khan's Web site identifies Holland as a ``student and aspiring record producer.'' Khan is best known for hits such as ``Tell Me Something Good,'' ``Papillon,'' and ``I Feel For You.'' Khan - born Yvette Marie Stephens in 1953 - was the lead singer for the R&B band Rufus in 1973. She embarked on a solo career in the late 1970s, and her music has been featured in a dozen movie soundtracks and television shows.
