CFP[R] Certificants Have Strong Showing in Barron's 'Top 100 Advisors'.


WASHINGTON -- More than half of the Barron's magazine Barron's magazine is an American weekly newspaper covering U.S. financial information, market developments, and relevant statistics. Each issue provides a wrap-up of the previous week's market activity, news reports, and an outlook on the week to come.  list of "Top 100 Independent Advisors" for 2009 are CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER Certified Financial Planner (CFP)

A person who has passed examinations accredited by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, showing that the person is able to manage a client's banking, estate, insurance, investment, and tax affairs.
[TM] professionals.

In the Barron's annual ranking, which reflects the volume of assets overseen by the advisors and their teams, revenues generated for the firms and the quality of the advisors' practices, 52 of the 100 are CFP 1. CFP - Constraint Functional Programming.
2. CFP - Communicating Functional Processes.
3. CFP - Call For Papers (for a conference).

 but hardly surprising that so many financial planners choose to distinguish themselves through the CFP([R]) certification," said Marilyn Capelli Dimitroff, CFP([R]), Chair of Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc.'s Board of Directors. "In this volatile economy, the public demands that their financial planners meet the highest standards of competence and ethics," she said.

Indeed, the magazine, in publishing the rankings in its August 31 issue, said many on the list credit their growth requirements to put customers' interests first and transparency of operations. Individuals who are awarded the CFP([R]) certification are required to adhere to adhere to
verb 1. follow, keep, maintain, respect, observe, be true, fulfil, obey, heed, keep to, abide by, be loyal, mind, be constant, be faithful

 CFP Board's Standards of Professional Conduct, which includes a fiduciary duty Noun 1. fiduciary duty - the legal duty of a fiduciary to act in the best interests of the beneficiary
legal duty - acts which the law requires be done or forborne
 to clients.

On the list is Robert Glovsky, CFP([R]), Chair-elect of CFP Board's Board of Directors. He will become Board Chair on January 1, 2010.
