Services, a nationwide provider of managed telecom infrastructure services, today announced availability of fiber proximity information on more than 200,000 tower and building based wireless infrastructure sites nationwide. CFN has integrated wireless site data into FiberSource(R) from among several hundred private tower and site owners, including the top 25 wireless tower companies representing over 80,000 collocation collocation - co-location  sites.

FiberSource(R) is one of the industry's largest and most comprehensive telecom infrastructure knowledge-bases with more than 350,000 route miles The number of miles that are spanned by a telecommunications network. It does not include combined wire mileage due to multiple wires or fibers within a single cable or by overlapping segments, just the total geographic distance between cities or other terminal points.  of deployed fiber and facilities including 550 metro networks Metro Networks is a broadcasting outsourcing company based in Houston, Texas. It is a subsidiary of Westwood One, which is managed by CBS Radio. The company operates a number of local and regional news and traffic facilities that provide regular reports to affiliates, together with  across 120 markets.

"By cross referencing such a broad base of wireless sites against the fiber and telecom transport infrastructure resident in FiberSource(R), we have opened up a whole range of new planning applications," said Mike MacKenzie, VP of Business Development at CFN. "We can now pinpoint the most economical way to deliver broadband broadband

data and Ethernet based services to more than 200,000 wireless sites, while also identifying which sites are best situated for 3G and 4G data services deployment."

CFN Services is adding the wireless infrastructure data to its portfolio of FiberSource(R) planning services, further extending its capability to support wireless network backhaul deployment and optimization optimization

. The Company sees growing opportunities in the wireless segment with the mobile carriers, as well as emerging WiMax and other wireless data services providers for deployment and optimization of networks.

MacKenzie added, "We also see growing opportunities in the government sector related to integrated fiber and fixed wireless network deployment, as well as with the tower companies themselves, and the competitive carriers that can potentially provide fiber based services to these sites but may not realize it yet."
