CFM Majestic Inc. Announces Strike At Its Mississauga Plant.MISSISSAUGA, Ontario--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 18, 1999-- CFM Majestic has announced today that Local 4970 of United Steel Workers of America have commenced strike activity at the Mississauga plant. The Company has been negotiating with the Union since July but has been unable to reach an agreement. The Company believes it has presented a fair contract and continues to negotiate in good faith. The strike will have no impact on the Company's six other manufacturing facilities, and the Company anticipates no difficulties in meeting demand from its customers for the foreseeable future. Inventory levels are high and replacement workers are planned to maintain production at the Mississauga plant.
