On February 14, 1996, the Company announced, as part of the ongoing program of integration of The Majestic Products Company, significant steps taken to rationalize ra·tion·al·ize

The acquisition of The Majestic Products Company has enabled the Company to report record sales for the period ended March 31, 1996. Sales for this period were $69.3 million, up 322 percent compared to $21.5 million in the prior period. This substantial increase includes sales of Majestic of $49.4 million.

Consolidated net income for the six month period ended March 31, 1996 was $2.3 million or 15 cents per share (net of the after tax plant shut down charge of $3.6 million or 24 cents per share) or $5.9 million or 39 cents per share after removing the after tax effect of the plant shut down charge. This represents a 30 percent increase in consolidated net income compared to prior year results for the same period of $4.5 million or 30 cents per share.

The pre-tax plant shut down charge of $5.9 million consists of both a cash and a non-cash component. Of this amount, $2.2 million is the pre-tax cash component consisting of employee severance and other costs associated with the transfer of production from Austin, Texas to the Huntington, Indiana Huntington is a city in Huntington County, Indiana, United States.
