CES 2005 Shows Off More Than 15 New Consumer Products Based On Sigma Media Processors.


MILPITAS, Calif. -- Sigma Designs (Nasdaq:SIGM), a leader in digital media processing See media control.  for consumer appliances, today announced that the Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2005) was home for more than 15 new consumer products based on the company's media processors, evidencing the momentum developed by its industry-leading technology. New products included several models of digital media receivers, premium DVD players, HDTV (High Definition TV) A set of digital television (DTV) standards that offer the highest resolution and sharpest picture. Although some HDTV sets are available in standard (rather square) screen sizes, the overwhelming majority of sets are wide screen, which eliminates  televisions and portable media players.

Several new products powered by Sigma's WMV (Windows Media Video) A family of digital video compression technologies from Microsoft based on MPEG-4.
