CERN's High Performance Networking Forum Conference Selects Dot Hill's SANnet Storage Solutions for GRID Demo.

Dot Hill Systems Corp., (NYSE:HIL) a leading provider of carrier-class information storage and storage area network (SAN) solutions announced today that its new SANnet(TM) Axis intelligent storage appliance and its SANnet 7100 Fibre Channel storage system have been selected as the essential storage components for the GRID demonstration at the High Performance Networking Forum (HNF-Europe) Conference at CERN, September 26-27, in Geneva, Switzerland.

CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, is host of the HNF-Europe conference and is the world's largest particle physics center.

SANnet Axis enhances high-performance distributed computing environments by providing shared storage access to virtual volumes over both IP and FC for both NAS files and SAN blocks. Virtual volumes can be geographically dispersed over heterogeneous storage pools. This flexibility and reach allows collaborative research to expand globally with traditional storage resource management (SRM) functionality. Information is protected through Axis's automated mirroring, remote replication and snapshot volume increment services.

John Burkey, Dot Hill's EMEA senior technical manager, will deliver a presentation at the CERN HNF Europe conference entitled, "Storage Solutions for High Performance Distributed Computing," on September 27. Burkey will also present "Storage Virtualization-Beyond SAN and NAS" to conference attendees on September 26.

CASPUR/INFN, a prominent research consortium in Italy, has tested the SANnet Axis and will participate in the CERN HNF Conference.
