CEPHEID NAMES IZASA AS EUROPEAN DISTRIBUTOR OF SMART CYCLER.

), Sunnyvale, Calif., has signed a multi-year distribution agreement with Izasa SA to market the Cepheid Smart Cycler(R) system, accessories, and disposable reaction tubes in the life sciences market in Spain, Portugal, Italy, Austria, France, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom. Izasa will provide marketing sales and service support for the Smart Cycler from its headquarters in Barcelona, Spain.

Through this agreement with Izasa, Cepheid gains access to the CH-Werfen "European Partner" sales and marketing organization, comprised of Izasa and Instrumentation Laboratory companies located in a number of major countries in Europe. CH-Werfen is the holding company of a group of international companies devoted to the manufacture, research and distribution of health care products with emphasis in the diagnostic and research fields.
