CEO of DoubleClick, Talks to IT Radio Network About the Future of Internet Advertising.

Business Editors

LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 20, 2000

IT Radio Network, the leading Internet eBusiness radio network, is now featuring an in-depth interview with Kevin O'Connor, chief executive officer of DoubleClick (Nasdaq:DLCK).

During the interview, O'Connor discussed banner advertising Banner Advertising

A common form of advertising on the internet. The banner is an advertisement of 460x68 pixels, usually placed at the top of the page

, profiling, branding and the future of online advertising

O'Connor discussed the importance of customer profiling when placing today's banner advertising. "We've clearly seen in the past that someone's past behavior is the best predictor of the future behavior or knowing who someone

is," said O'Connor. "Any time that we can give someone a relevant ad, the response rates, the conversion rates and the acquisition rates go up and people respond."

According to O'Connor, branding is a major part of the advertising world. "Branding is a important part of the advertising world," said O'Connor. "A lot of sites have been pre-formed on branding. Comparing it to print and TV and radio shows, branding absolutely works on the Web. You know, at the end of the day, branding dollars have to follow the consumers and they're seeing great impact on that."

When asked if the honeymoon was over for banner click-through advertising models, O'Connor responded: "It hasn't even started yet. The real party has yet to begin."

The entire interview is available free online in RealAudio (Nasdaq:RNWK RNWK Real Networks (stock symbol) ) and text at www.ITRadioNetwork.com.
