CEO VENTURE FUND ANNOUNCES FIRST DELAWARE VALLEY INVESTMENT
 IN CME CONFERENCE VIDEO
PITTSBURGH, Feb. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- The CEO Venture Fund is pleased to announce today completion of an equity investment in CME Conference Video of Cherry Hill, N.J.
This investment is the first for the CEO Venture Fund in the Delaware Valley, one of the nation's most rapidly growing entrepreneurial investment regions.
CME Conference Video is a growing industry leader in the medical video segment of the medical publishing industry. The company produces videotapes of major international medical symposia which are accredited by the American Medical Association (AMA) and make these video programs available to physicians who were unable to attend the meetings. The video programs include the entire conference: all speakers, lectures, workshops, live surgical viewing and discussion sessions.
The video programs include some of the world's renowned centers for medical learning, and feature internationally respected physicians presenting the latest medical and surgical techniques. Physicians who purchase, view and successfully complete a self-assessment examination receive the same continuing medical education (CME) credits as those who had attended the conference. Each video program is time-code indexed for easy reference to topics of particular interest.
Gary P. Golding, general partner of the CEO Venture Fund, views CME Conference Video as an information services business with a very attractive business model. "The company is providing essential and timely information in a new form to physicians that are concerned with both time management and their internal regulatory environment. What has set CME Conference Video apart is their focus on the quality required by the targeted customer."
CEO Venture Fund general partner Gene Yost, who understands selling through direct mail from founding and building the successful catalog supplier, Black Box Corporation, will also be working with the company. "CME Conference Video has established a fundamental method of selling directly to the customer and my job will be to work with them to improve their methods and build the organization to achieve higher success rates."
The company's key management team includes: Louis J. Bucelli Jr., president and chief executive officer; Timothy I. Crouse, executive vice president; John D. Shaw, vice president, production; and Donald T. Green, vice president, post-production.
"I am pleased to have CEO Venture Fund as a partner," said Bucelli. "Not only have they made a financial commitment, but they are also investing their well-seasoned expertise into the growth of the business. I am looking forward to working together with CEO Venture Fund to continue to set the standard in medical video publishing and lead the industry in this new and exciting area of continuing medical education."
Crouse believes that the investment will allow the company to expand the number of medical specialty programs available to physicians. "Through our video education programs more physicians will have greater access to medical conferences and medical information than was previously possible."
Recognized as one of the most active venture capital investors in the mid-Atlantic states, the CEO Venture Fund will continue to explore investment opportunities within the Delaware Valley. "We are pleased to make this breakthrough investment for our organization as we are now well-positioned throughout our targeted investment region," said Golding.
Headquartered in Pittsburgh with offices in Washington, and the CEO Venture Fund makes venture capital investments in revenue stage technology companies and is active in management buyouts of product lines and divisions of large organizations throughout the mid-Atlantic region.
