CEO OF T/SF COMMUNICATIONS AND TRIBUNE/SWAB-FOX COMPANIES RESIGNS; NEW CEO AND CHAIRMAN ELECTED

 TULSA, Okla., Aug. 2 /PRNewwswire/ -- T/SF Communications Corp. (AMEX: TCM) and its parent company, Tribune/Swab-Fox Companies Inc. (NASDAQ: TSFC), today announced that G. Douglas Fox has resigned as chairman and chief executive officer of both companies. Howard G. Barnett Jr., formerly president and chief operating officer of both companies was elected chairman, president and chief executive officer of T/SF and president and chief executive officer of Tribune/Swab-Fox. Jenkin Lloyd Jones was elected chairman of Tribune/Swab-Fox and Martin A. Vaughan was elected vice-chairman. Fox will remain as a consultant for the companies.
 Fox stated: "I have just turned 60 and have been doing this job for over 13 years and desire to pursue other opportunities. I am looking forward to new challenges but I plan to take some time to assess my opportunities before making any decisions. I wish the companies well and look forward to serving them as a consultant in the future."
 Barnett, on behalf of the boards of directors of the two companies, stated, "With the closing of The Tulsa Tribune in late 1992, we are beginning a new chapter in the life of the companies. Mr. Fox has led us ably to this point, but we agreed that now is a good time to make a change as we develop the long term strategies that will fuel our growth and development into the 21st century."
