 CENTRAL AND SOUTH WEST CORPORATION NAMES 10 EXECUTIVES
 TO NEW POSITIONS; REALIGNS CENTRAL AND SOUTH WEST SERVICES UNIT
 DALLAS, Oct. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Central and South West Corporation (NYSE: CSR) (CSWS) today announced 10 executive changes and realigned its Central and South West Services, Inc., unit, which provides business services to the corporation and its other subsidiaries.
 "These changes will improve the reporting relationships of key officers within our company and will clarify the functions of CSWS," said E.R. Brooks, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Central and South West Corporation. "Work that is a service to our utility system or to our non-utility subsidiaries will remain in the service company. Work that is clearly corporate in purpose now will be managed at the corporate level," he said.
 The following changes will be effective November 1:
 -- Thomas V. Shockley III, 47, executive vice president of Central and South West Corporation, will assume the additional title of chief executive


officer of CSWS from E.R. Brooks.
 -- Terry D. Dennis, 46, currently vice president of engineering for CSWS, will become president of CSWS, reporting to Shockley.
 -- G. Holman King, 59, currently vice president of corporate development for CSWS, will become vice president of corporate development for Central and South West Corporation. He will be responsible for corporate analysis, business development in Mexico, and new ventures in energy technologies and operational services.
 -- Paul E. Graf, 41, currently vice president of special projects for CSWS, will become vice president of special projects for Central and South West Corporation, reporting to King.
 -- Thomas M. Hagan, 48, currently vice president of government relations for CSWS, will become vice president of government relations for Central and South West Corporation. He will be responsible for all federal and state relations and for rates and regulatory affairs.
 -- William R. Elmore, 45, currently vice president of marketing and business development for CSWS, will become vice president of marketing and business development for Central and South West Corporation. Elmore will continue reporting to Harry D. Mattison, executive vice president and chief operating officer of Central and South West Corporation.
 -- Bruce Evans, 36, currently executive assistant to the chief operating officer, will become vice president of business improvement for Central and South West Corporation. He will be responsible for major programs to improve operational efficiency by standardizing business practices. Evans will continue reporting to Mattison.
 -- Richard P. Verret, 46, will become vice president of engineering for CSWS, succeeding Dennis in that position. Verret currently is vice president of region operations for Central Power and Light Company, another Central and South West subsidiary. He will be responsible at CSWS for technical services, research, power engineering, environmental services, system dispatch and the energy management system.
 -- Donald A. Shahan, 42, currently vice president of information services for CSWS, will become vice president of information resources for CSWS, reporting to Dennis. Shahan will be responsible for information services, telecommunications and CSWS controller.
 In addition, the company said it has named Dr. Lawrence E. De Simone, 45, as vice president of strategic planning for Central and South West Corporation. He will report to Glenn D. Rosilier, senior vice president and chief financial officer of Central and South West Corporation. Dr. De Simone currently is a principal with Scott, Madden & Associates, Inc., where he heads the firm's strategic planning and regulatory policies practices. He will join the company in late November.
 Central and South West Corporation is a public utility holding company based in Dallas. It owns Central Power and Light Company, Public Service Company of Oklahoma, Southwestern Electric Power Company and West Texas Utilities Company. These four subsidiaries provide electric utility service to 1.6 million customers in Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana and Arkansas. Central and South West also owns Transok, Inc., an Oklahoma intrastate natural gas pipeline company, CSWS and three other subsidiaries.
 CSWS performs, at cost, accounting, engineering, tax, legal, financial, data processing, centralized dispatch of electric power and other services for Central and South West Corporation and its subsidiaries. CSWS employs approximately 465 people in Dallas.
