CEMEX Successfully Completes Exchange for the New CPOs.


MONTERREY, Mexico--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 14, 1999--

CEMEX CEMEX Cementos Mexicanos , S.A. de C.V. announced today that has successfully completed the share exchange of the A and B series for the New CPOs (Certificados de Participacion Ordinaria).

The exchange offer, which concluded on Monday, September 13th in the United States, and today, September 14th in Mexico resulted in a 96% conversion rate of the A and B shares deposited at S. D. INDEVAL. The total amount of new CPOs outstanding is now 1,305,705,481.

The New CPO will begin trading on September 15th simultaneously on the Bolsa Mexicana de Valores The Bolsa Mexicana de Valores or BMV is Mexico's only stock exchange.
