It's all part of the Valencia AutoSpa's tradition of providing waiters dressed in costume in order to add more fun and enjoyment to the event, said AutoSpa co-owner Randy Cressall. ``We try to get a lot of audience participation, because all of the tips we get go to the American Heart Association and tips are generated by all of the fun things that we do,'' he said. This is the AutoSpa's fourth year of participation in the Celebrity Waiter event, and they always have employees dress up in keeping with a certain theme. Last year, the AutoSpa waiters served diners Diners can mean:
With this year's ``Men of Mystery'' theme, Cressall hopes the AutoSpa can raise in excess of $5,000. ``It's a lofty goal, but I think we can do it,'' he said. The AutoSpa has supported the Celebrity Waiter event each year because heart disease is something that affects everyone, and it's important to raise money for research so that effective treatments can be found, Cressall said. ``There have been people in my life that I have lost to heart disease, and many of our employees have lost loved ones loved ones npl → seres mpl queridos loved ones npl → proches mpl et amis chers loved ones love npl to heart disease also, so it is a cause that is important to us,'' he said. AutoSpa General Manager John Beebout will portray Austin Powers at the dinner and has all kinds of zany antics antics Noun, pl absurd acts or postures [Italian antico something grotesque (from fantastic carvings found in ruins of ancient Rome)] antics plural noun planned to generate tips at his table. He chose Powers because the character has been very popular during the past year, and because he resembles the famous international spy. ``Yeah, I do kind of look like him,'' Beebout said. ``It's scary.'' Beebout, as Powers, plans to tell the ladies at his table that he has lost his mojo, and get them to dance with him so that he can get it back (of course, the ladies will have to pay for this privilege.) ``I'm going to do the whole thing. I'll do the dance he does on the front of his feet and I'll be using all of his phrases,'' he said. ``I think with the Austin Powers character I can generate more tips and raise more money for the Heart Association.'' Raising money for the Heart Association is important to Beebout, since his father died of heart disease just last year. ``We do a lot of charity work here at the AutoSpa, but this is the one that really comes home for me,'' he said. Also representing the AutoSpa at tonight's dinner will be Richard Twitchell as Superman and Bill Langille as Forrest Gump.
