CELEBRATIONS: Celebrating... at parties marking the end of the school year.

The night brought lots of emotion

PUPILS of a Coventry school turned on the style for their leavers' ball.

Sixth formers at Cardinal Wiseman RC School, Potters Green, dressed to the nines for the annual do for youngsters to celebrate leaving school.

And many arrived for the ball, at the Merrick Lodge Hotel, St Nicholas Street, Coventry, in stretch limousines.

Maria Murray, head of sixth form, said: "It went extremely well. There was bucks fizz, we had a beautiful three-course meal, then we had speeches afterwards. There was a lot of dancing and a lot of emotion.

"All the boys were in suits and all the girls were in gowns. They were dancing the night away. It was just a very successful evening."

About 130 people, including 25 staff, attended the event, the tenth leavers' ball held by the school.
