CELEBRATING WHILE PICKING A COLLEGE SCHOOL DISTRICT TO HOST TWO EVENTS IN ONE FOR PARENTS, STUDENTS, INSTITUTIONS.

PALMDALE -- The Antelope Valley Union High School District The Antelope Valley Union High School District (A.V.U.H.S.D.) is located in the Antelope Valley area of California, in northern Los Angeles County.

The district includes eight public high schools, one trade school, and two continuation high schools in the cities of Palmdale

The event, open to parents and students from all public and private schools in the Antelope Valley, allows visitors to talk to representatives from more than 40 colleges, universities, technical schools, community colleges, military and other postsecondary schools.

Previous events have drawn more than 2,000 teens and parents.

For the second year, the event will include the Harvest Celebration showcasing successful students and programs at Antelope Valley Union High School District schools.

School administrators and counselors will be available to talk with parents and students.

District administrators and board members will also be available during the event.

Laguna College of Art and Design (commonly referred to as LCAD) is a private college located in Laguna Beach, California. LCAD has a small student body with an average enrollment of under 360 students.

Officials will also be able to talk about the partnerships between UCLA, CSU Bakersfield's Antelope Valley campus and Antelope Valley College and the transfer program among them.

Representatives from the schools and military will be located at tables in the outdoor courtyard and will have information on the programs and entrance requirements.

Informational workshops will be offered at 5:15 and 6 p.m. on Cash for College, How to Choose a College, Athletic Rules for College, Writing the College Essay, Nuts and Bolts of Applying to College, Preparing for Careers in Engineering and Ask a High School Counselor.
