Perry, whose 30 to 40 invited guests were mainly members and friends of the 40 & Up Singles dance club, put together, with the help of Sandi Brown, club hospitality chairwoman, and a few other women in the club, tables of food in every room of his house except in the entertainment center.

There, coolers held liquid refreshments for those who danced the night away to Perry's vast collection of recorded music.

No DJ was necessary but one of the guests was Pete Boron boron (bōr`ŏn) [New Gr. from borax], chemical element; symbol B; at. no. 5; at. wt. 10.81; m.p. about 2,300°C;; sublimation point about 2,550°C;; sp. gr. 2.3 at 25°C;; valence +3.  aka DJ McFly. Another was the club's former executive director, Hester Williams.

The club meets every Sunday night and Boron often provides the music to dance to, and chat, from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. at the Lancaster Elks Club.

Tubes of colored neon lit, from top to bottom, the 400-square-foot room that Perry remodeled a few years ago and turned into a music room complete with a tiled floor for dancing.

``Manny really is an asset to the club,'' said John Torres. ``He's been a member for years and, while rather shy, he's always the perfect gentleman.

``He's good to everyone and really loves to dance. Like clockwork, Manny shows up every Sunday night and dances up a storm.''

Torres and Rowlyne Corley head the senior singles group.
