CELEBRATING A LEADER.

Byline: The Register-Guard

Carla Gary, assistant vice provost for institutional equity and diversity at the University of Oregon, gives a rousing keynote speech Sunday night at a Martin Luther King celebration that drew close to 200 people to Willamette High School.

Performers included Mike McCornack (on right at right) and Joel Bradform, who offered a well-received rendition of "Blowin' in the Wind." A list of other local events celebrating King's legacy appears inside on Page C4, and the names of student contest winners are on Page C2.
