CEI CUSTOMERS USING RECORD AMOUNTS OF ELECTRICITY TO BEAT THE HEAT
 CLEVELAND, Aug. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Today's heat and humidity prompted customers of the Cleveland Electric Illuminating Company (CEI) to use air conditioners and fans at a record-setting pace.
 A 1992 record for electricity use for a one-hour period was set today between 4 and 5 p.m. when CEI customers used 3,605,000 kilowatthours of electricity.
 The previous 1992 record of 3,432,000 kilowatthours was set on July 14.
 CEI's all-time one-hour peak demand record of 4,067,000 kilowatthours was set on Aug. 17, 1988.
