The CEGEDIM Group records a first semester 2002 slightly lower than forecast, with a 5% growth in turnover. This is mostly due to the decrease of the activities dealing with computerization of pharmacists and doctors in France.

CEGEDIM is still performing very well on its core business, with a 13% growth in the Pharmaceutical companies division (which accounts for 47% of consolidated turnover).

The outlook for the second semester 2002 should enable the Group to make up for the yearly forecast in turnover. Half year results should be slightly lower than the 2001 half year results, but the management is confident in achieving its objectives for 2002, with regard to the recovery of its activities of computerization of healthcare professionals which has already started.

Analytical breakdown

Within the Pharmaceutical companies division,

-- the activities dealing with "Customer relationship management" achieve a strong increase on the international scale (+ 28%) in line with the Group's globalization strategy, whereas the French activities are now stabilizing, as forecast.

-- "Information and databases" activities still perform a strong internal growth (+ 14%), which once again includes the doubling of the German subsidiary MEDIMED.

After two thriving years due to the year 2000 and the transition to the euro, computerization of Healthcare professionals experiences a decrease by 8%. However, forecast are better oriented on the second semester and the activities in the United Kingdom strongly hold up. Thus, 2002 should end up with a turnover at least as high as 2001.

The same cyclical effect applies to the computerization of healthcare insurance companies. Consequently, a slight growth is now expected in 2002 for the Electronic money and insurances division.

Direct marketing still faces a dull economic climate. On the contrary, recovery has begun within services in IT, management and the Internet, which should lead back to an average two digit growth rate.
