CEATEC Innovation Awards - "as Selected by U.S. Journalists" - Will Recognize the Most Innovative Technologies and Trends at CEATEC JAPAN 2009.


CHIBA CITY, Japan -- JESA JESA Japan Electronics Show Association  (Japan Electronics Show Association: the organizer of CEATEC CEATEC Combined Exhibition of Advanced Technologies (Technology and Electronics Exhibition, Japan)  JAPAN) announced the formation of the CEATEC Innovation Awards (former US Tech-pert Panel) -- an independent advisory panel comprised of U.S. journalists -- for CEATEC JAPAN 2009. This year's panel will review and recognize significant technologies based on innovation and potential influence in the U.S. market in a diverse range of categories.

For CEATEC JAPAN 2009 (from Tuesday, October 6th to Saturday, October 10th), a new category of special awards including a Grand Prix Grand Prix

Any of several competitive international road races for sports cars of specific engine size over an exacting, usually risky course.
 award will be presented for Green IT technologies and related products. The panel for CEATEC Innovation Awards are leading experts in the field of technology and will review exhibits in categories including home entertainment, technology components, transportation technology, digital imaging, biometrics, cellular and mobile technology, computing and networking, and digital content/software, with all award winners benefiting from significant media coverage in the USA, Europe and Asia, including Japan.

The CEATEC Innovation Awards will be directed by Editor-in-Chief/Senior Analyst, Greentech Media, Michael Kanellos and other panelists will include Tom Samiljan, executive editor of AOL's Switched.com; Josh Fruhlinger, Editorial Director of Engadget.com; Mark Seavy, Senior Editor of Consumer Electronics Daily; and Kevin Sintumuang, Associate Editor of GQ Magazine. Joining the panel this year will be Scott Ard, Editor-In-Chief of CNET (body) CNET - Centre national d'Etudes des Telecommunications. The French national telecommunications research centre at Lannion.  and Mark Fishkin, Executive Director, The Wall Street Journal Digital Network.

CEATEC JAPAN 2008 Tech-pert Panel Category Award Winners included the following technologies:

Imaging: JVC JVC Victor Company of Japan (or Japan's Victor Company)
JVC Jewelers Vigilance Committee
JVC Jesuit Volunteer Corps
JVC Jet Vane Control (directs VLS-launched missiles)

 Everio

Technological Achievement: JVC 8K Projector

In addition, the panel and contributing analysts selected one technology in particular, recognizing it as the "Best of CEATEC JAPAN 2008."
