WHAT: Consumer Electronics Association (CEA(R)) President and
CEO Gary Shapiro will connect the dots between digital
technology, content and consumers during his luncheon
keynote on Wednesday, May 3rd at the tenth annual
CONNECTIONS(TM) Digital Home Conference and Showcase.
Consumers are gobbling up consumer electronics products
today to the tune of $125 billion as new digital products
alter the way consumers experience movies, television
programs, music and other digital content. As the 2006
International CES demonstrated, technology and content
companies are responding to consumers' voracious appetite
for all things digital, announcing deals right and left
for new content and delivery services. But even as the
ink is drying, an age-old debate lingers about the balance
between consumers' home recording and fair use rights and
the content community's intellectual property rights.
