CE Software announces strategic alliance with Netstrategy Software.


SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 4, 1995--CE Software today announced a strategic alliance with Netstrategy Software Inc., whereby the two companies will work together to bring wireless messaging to the hand held device market.

Netstrategy is recognized as a leading innovator in the wireless development arena.

CE Software is the developer of QuickMail(R), the No. 1 selling E-mail solution for the Macintosh, and Network Scheduler the No. 1 installed group calendaring and scheduling application.

The combined efforts of CE Software and Netstrategy will expand and enrich wireless options for mobile users. The first product resulting from this collaboration is CE Software's MobileVision, which provides wireless messaging from Motorola's Marco Wireless Communicator to a QuickMail LAN (Local Area Network) A communications network that serves users within a confined geographical area. The "clients" are the user's workstations typically running Windows, although Mac and Linux clients are also used. . CE Software is committed to delivering MobileVision 2.0 products for multiple mail transports. Future releases will support cc:Mail, Microsoft Mail An earlier and simple messaging system from Microsoft that runs on PC and AppleTalk networks. Gateways are available to a variety of mail systems including X.400, PROFS and MHS. Microsoft Mail-enabled applications are written to the MAPI programming interface.
