(CDSI), announced Thursday that it has been awarded a contract by the Department of Education to support the PELL Grant The Pell Grant program is a type of post-secondary, educational federal grant program sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education. It is named after U.S. Senator Claiborne Pell and originally known as the the Basic Educational Opportunity Grant program.  Financial Aid Program.

Under this contract, CDSI BAS will reengineer the Department of Education's Recipient Financial Management System, implement the new system, and support the processing operation for PELL Grant Awards. The contract is for an 18-month base period with four one-year options. The total estimated value is more than $30 million.

CDSI BAS has been awarded four contracts by the Department of Education to support the government's commitment to reducing costs and streamlining student financial aid administration.
