CDM re-certification program set for '03. (NDIA News).

To assure that the National Defense Industrial Associations certified professionals remain knowledgeable in the discipline, the Technical Information Division will initiate a re-certification requirement for everyone certified to date. This has been in the planning stage for sometime, and several individuals have combined their efforts to develop the re-certification process. Following is a brief summary and further details will be posted on the NDIA web site (www.ndia.org) by 15 November 2002:

Starting in January 2003, certifications will have a five-year effective period.

All those certified prior to January 2003 will be contacted at their last known address and urged to re-certify at the five year point subsequent to the effective date of their certification. They will be advised that certifications are not current after five years.

Certified individuals who have changed their address should provide updated information to Dick Thomas at [e-mail] or [phone].

During 2001 many CDM professionals earned their certification as Certified Configuration and Data Managers (CCDM) or Certified Configuration and Data Specialist (CCDS).

Special congratulations and recognition is offered to the following individuals who achieved the highest examination scores for each certification level. They are: Paul Shard-low of PCCJ Limited and Colin Hillman of BAE Systems (tie) for configuration and data manager; and Carla Lee Cook of Northrop Grumman Ship Systems for configuration and data specialist.
