CDIs SelfServe Advances Benefits of "Super Distribution" Concept in New Peak Technologies Bundle Agreement.

SelfServe promotes the super distribution of software by encouraging the use of free 30-day trials of products, by facilitating easy online upgrading and purchasing, and by capturing customer registrations.

"SelfServe continues to support the concept of super distribution which is ultimately a win-win situation for software vendors and customers alike," noted Wayne Preston, CDI Director of Sales. "Our new `wrapper A data structure or software that contains ("wraps around") other data or software, so that the contained elements can exist in the newer system. The term is often used with component software, where a wrapper is placed around a legacy routine to make it behave like an object.  technology' not only promotes the value of individual customer registration, but also expands the benefits of 30-day trial versions that can be easily upgraded to full working versions with the click of a button."

SelfServe also allows customers using copied versions of Peak's software the added benefit of a complete 30-day trial. When registered customers share their software, SelfServe recognizes the new unregistered user and resets the trial period. This provides the software publisher with secure protection and allows potential new customers to easily purchase the software at the end of the trial period.

When a Peak customer uses CDI's technology to purchase the software, SelfServe facilitates the transaction process electronically and secures the software with a registration key that is valid only on the customer's PC.

"With SelfServe, Peak can attract thousands of new customers by giving them `try-before-you-buy' technology. This trial functionality will be bundled in selected products sold via the Internet," said Peak president, Doug Foster Doug Foster (died August, 2006) was a soldier in the 2/17th AIF battalion (Australian 9th Division) involved in the clash between German and Australian forces in World War II. . "By incorporating SelfServe into these products, we build trust with our users by offering a free trial download To receive a file transmitted over a network. In any communications session, "download" means receive, and "upload" means send. The download/upload often implies a big/little scenario, in which data is being downloaded from the "big" server into the "little" user's computer.  and the option to legitimately copy our products for others to test as well."

SelfServe works by transparently linking a sophisticated back-end infrastructure to the clients Web site or products. SelfServe processes customer requests invisibly from the first point of purchase all the way through payment authorization The right or permission to use a system resource; the process of granting access. See access control.  and processing. This supports "super-distribution" that ensures companies receive full compensation for every software product they sell, even if the product has been copied after being purchased.

The SelfServe system is composed of three interactive and integrated components which provide merchants and their customers a reliable and extremely secure environment for on-line "instant shopping." By managing these transactions directly, SelfServe enables its clients to sell, support, and distribute products and services to customers from the Internet without ever having to develop their own costly back-end system.
