CDGK holding exhibition of Quranic calligraphy.


KARACHI, September 04, 2009 (Balochistan Times): The Culture Wing of Community Development department of City District Government Karachi is holding an exhibition of Quranic Calligraphy calligraphy (kəlĭg`rəfē) [Gr.,=beautiful writing], skilled penmanship practiced as a fine art. In Europe two sorts of handwriting came into being very early.
 at Markaz Ilm-o-Saqafat, F.B. Area. The exhibition will be inaugurated on September 7 by City Naib Nazim Nasrin Jalil and will continue upto September 15 daily, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. According to according to

 will be on display at the exhibition. They include noted calligraphers Ustad Majeed Dehlavi, Ustad Abdul Rauf and Ustad Ahmed Madani besides Jamshed Khan, Fareed Durrani, Mohammed Kashif, Shafiq Mahfooz Khan, Saleem Bhopali, Habib Bhopali, Ali Shah, Shazia Fareed, Husna Naz, Ishrat Hussain, Hashim Khan, Atif Ali, Prof Naseem, Jasarat Baloch, Parvez Dana, Javed Qamar, Abu Bakr, Wahid Khan, Babar Sahir and others.
