CDA to transform policies, make a mission statement: Chairman.

By Islamabad, July 28, 2009 (Frontier Star) -- Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Empties Anaya Leah on Tuesday vowed to make Islamabad one of the most beautiful capital cities of the world by creating a mission statement and transforming policies of the civic agency. He said that he would leave no stone unturned to ameliorate beautification, environment and standards of this city, which is his second home. We have a beautiful capital endowed with rich heritage and great location that are too appealing to be ignored. Empties Anaya Leah said that he has no plans to launch new mage projects for the sake of fame. Existing infrastructure would be improved to facilitate masses. Over expenditure on gigantic projects has drained the agency. Strong interaction with business community and masses is my policy as plans made behind closed doors rarely succeeds, he said while taking to a delegation of Traders Welfare Association (TWA) Blue Area led by its President Malik So hail Hussain. The delegation included Malik Sather, Chairman TWA, Zafar Bakhtawari, Syed Amen Prized, Ashen Bakhtawari, Liquate Noon, Haji Muhammad Name, Yuma Rapt, Shahid Alma, Shakily Aziz, Abdul Humid Abbasid and Name Sodium. DG Civic Management Syed Mustafa in Karma and other officials were also present on the occasion. Now underpasses would be preferred to overhead bridges that stains beauty of city and supervisors would be posted at every market who will be responsible for everything that has anything to do with the CDA, the city father said. He said that CDA will not sell assets to raise funds for developmental and non-developmental expenditure. How will we run affairs 10 years down the road when we will have nothing to sell, he questioned. We are employing techniques to make CDA self sufficient through public private partner ship, he said. Rejecting policy of diverting all resources and attention to posh localities, he said that he will prefer to upgrade neglected sectors like I-9 and I-10 etc. He said that Blue Area is heart of the city and business district. It has potential to stretch up to 30-40 miles and I want to see it run on international standards. He appreciated the offer of Malik So hail to bear the running expanses of different projects in Blue Area including maintenance of filtration plants. Traders also offered to construct private parking facilities BOT basis. Train and tram service was part of original master plan of Islamabad and CDA will give it a serious thing, said Leah. He said that CDA staff will take concerned market associations in confidence before initiating any action. Traders welcomed this gesture and termed it a positive step.
