CDA all set to launch water conservation plan.

See CD-DA. ) is all set to launch water conservancy management plan in order to meet the growing demands of drinking water drinking water

 to the shortage of water, he said the water conservancy management plan features the public awareness campaign aimed at informing and inculcating in the public the manners of using water judiciously and not to waste the drinking water by diverting it to other uses like car washing, bathing and gardening. Treated sewerage water would, instead, be provided to the residents of the Capital so that they could use it for bathing, gardening and other house chores, he elaborated. Explaining the causes responsible for scarcity of water in the Federal Capital, he said at present, the demand for drinking water in Islamabad touches the figure of 115 million gallon, while the supply of drinking water to the capital from various sources like Simli Dam and others reaches up to the 65 million gallon. Out of this available drinking water, 30 million gallon water is being used by citizens for domestic purposes instead drinking, he explained. The Director General also apprised that penalties would also be imposed on the erring err

 citizens found guilty of wasting drinking water. He, however, did not give details about how the approved plan would cover the imposition of penalties on those guilty of wasting water. Replying to a question, he said that all the illegal pumps and borings made in Islamabad by some mischievous elements would be done away with in two months time.
