 will release a new CD, "Bob Stroud's Classic Rock Roots Volume II" on Tuesday, September 7, 1999. Stroud is the Midday

 personality (10AM to 3PM) at CD94.7, Chicago's Classic Rock station. Bob hosts the long-running "Rock `n Roll Roots" program each Sunday Sunday: see Sabbath; week.  on CD94.7 from 9AM to Noon. The program debuted in 1980.

The new release is the second in a series of "Classic Rock Roots" CDs produced by Stroud and CD94.7. Volume I, released in the fall of 1998, sold all 5,000 copies printed.

"I think it shows the continuing love affair that we have with our hometown bands The Hometown Band was founded in 1975 by Claire Lawrence, a former member of The Collectors and Chilliwack, to back up Canadian folk artist Valdy. The band was composed of Shari Ulrich (lead vocals, flute, fiddle), Geoff Ayre (drums, vocals), Robbie King (organ, piano, keyboard  from the `60s and `70s."

The CD will be available for sale exclusively at Chicagoland Best Buy locations for $9.47 beginning Tuesday, September 7th.
