Media 100 Inc. (NASDAQ: MDEA), a leading developer of advanced media systems, announced that Philadelphia, PA-based production company CCI Communications has purchased 844/X, Media 100's award-winning editing system for lightning-fast compositing of unlimited layers. CCI will use the speed and 10-bit architecture of 844/X to create its current slate of graphics- and effects-intensive sports shows and other broadcast programming and to expand the number of projects they can deliver. The integrated editing and compositing of 844/X, an acclaimed workflow breakthrough, will also offer CCI substantial creative and cost advantages over the facility's current compendium of linear-based gear.

"We have been maintaining linear suites to do the heavy amounts of layered graphics and text effects that have become so integral to our work in the sports programming industry," said Ken Selinger, President & Owner of CCI. CCI's projects range from the weekly 30-minute "Inside Golf" television series it produces in cooperation with the Philadelphia Section of the PGA to sports broadcasts developed for universities such as Temple, Villanova and St. Joseph's. The company, which owns its own studio and mobile production truck, also shoots and finishes corporate and industrial pieces servicing such industries as semiconductors, pharmaceuticals, transportation and food products.

Graphics bins, for example, can be created on iFinish and then imported into 844/X, or finished files from 844/X can be sent over to iFinish for delivery as MPEG for mastering to DVD or CD-ROM media.
