CCCB has new president Cap-de-la-Madeleine, Quebec.


On October 27, 2003, Canada's Catholic bishops chose Archbishop Brendan O'Brien Brendan Michael O'Brien (born September 28, 1943) is a Canadian prelate of the Roman Catholic Church. He currently serves as Archbishop of Kingston, having previously served as Archbishop of Saint John's and Bishop of Pembroke.  (60) of St. John's, NL, as president of their episcopal conference In the Roman Catholic Church, an Episcopal Conference, Conference of Bishops, or National Conference of Bishops is an official assembly of all the bishops of a given territory. .

Archbishop O'Brien, who served as vice president for the past two years, succeeds Bishop Jacques Berthelet, who has just completed his two-year term. He will be the first bishop from Newfoundland and Labrador Newfoundland and Labrador, province, Canada
