CCAIR REPORTS RECORD REVENUE PASSENGER MILES FOR AUGUST

CHARLOTTE, N.C., Sept. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- CCAIR, Inc. (NASDAQ-NMS: CCAR), an independent airline providing service as USAir Express in the southeast United States reported performance results today for August 1993.
CCAIR set an all-time record with 13,372,591 revenue passenger miles compared to the previous high of 13,324,377 set in July 1992. Average revenue passenger miles flown were up 5.6 percent from August 1992, while available seat miles flown increased 7.4 percent and average passenger mules increased 15.6 percent. Passenger load factor was 49.4 percent which compares with 50.3 percent in August of last year when traffic was overly inflated by last summer's industrywide fare discounts. The major reason for increases in RPMs, ASMs and average passenger miles was the addition of three new Dash 8 flights to Cincinnati, Ohio replacing USAir jet service.
For the first eight months of 1993 the company posted increases of 16.8 percent in revenue passenger miles compared to the same period 1992. Load factor for the first eight months of 1993 was 47.4 percent compared to 49.0 percent for the corresponding period of 1992.
