Commissioner Carl Wood for his recent actions concerning proposed wireless regulations. The workshops he led last week gave us, and others, like the California Chamber of Commerce, the opportunity to discuss the unintended negative consequences for consumers if the rules are approved as currently drafted. In addition, his decision to not only alter the aggressive comment and approval schedule for the proposed rules, but also to allow additional working sessions involving wireless carriers, consumers groups, the Attorney General's office and other parties next week, means the dialogue will continue.

"California wireless carriers continue to believe that the proposed wireless regulations, as currently written, miss the mark for consumers by threatening the low rates, convenient services and coverage area improvements that our customers care about most. We welcome these new working sessions and are committed to participating fully, in a good faith effort to produce the best possible result for all concerned parties."
